Let's start with the business description:

  • The first sentence of your Google My Business description should contain your clients ultimate goal. Mine, for example, would say:
"You want your Oklahoma City business to be found on Google local search."
  • The second sentence of your GMB listing description should include your customer's pain point. Mine, for example, would say:
"The problem is that your competitors are ranking higher than you."
  • Then, go on to describe the unique way that sets you apart from your competitors.

Now, on to treating GMB as a social media platform:

User metrics are my favorite way to hack SEO and achieves higher rankings and lead generation. User metrics measures engagement with your profile. Upload images/videos of unique ideas or things. Write posts that help the viewer. Post about things that intrigue the audience and compels them to message you through the GMB app. When they do, you better answer FAST! Google My Business measures the response time and uses it to decide if your business deserves to be shown as the answer to people's questions in the future.

Think of Google My Business as the most important biz dev tool. When people call you, help them so much that when you ask them for a review, they gladly do it right away.

Reviews are important. Do not try to hack reviews. Google is strict. It isn't as strict as Yelp, but it is strict.

Login to your webflow account, go to your dashboard and choose the project that has your website.

You should be in the Designer (User Interface that allows you to visually manipulate all HTML, CSS, Interactions, etc...).

Look at the dashboard navigation icons on the far left of the page: Click on the fifth one from the top called PAGES.

Choose the page where the duplicate meta description you want to correct is located. Once you are on the correct page, click the PAGES button again to bring up the settings.

Hover over the settings gear and a tooltip will pop up saying "edit page settings".

Click on the gear, scroll down to the Meta Description and type in your new meta description.

Webflow suggests between 155 to 300 characters. Contact us for more information on what we suggest you write. Thank you.
